So many of my favorite games from when I was a kid have been updated with a current twist. The most recent classic game from Hasbro to get up-to-speed with the fast-paced motion of modern times is the just-released brand new Yahtzee.
How can you update Yahtzee, you might ask? That’s a good question. But oh, you can!
The newly introduced World Series of Yahtzee is a different game all in its own. There are dice you must roll and numbers to match, but that’s where the similarities end. There is no waiting around for your turn, it’s interactive and quick.
The World Series of Yahtzee is a 2-4 player face-to-face dice showdown of who can match their numbers first. You roll your dice until they match up with a card placed on the board. Whoever matches first locks it in by pressing the electronic timer. When everyone has stopped rolling, grab your card for points. Highest score at the end of the game wins!
This game is recommended for ages 8+, but I played with all my kids. Of course, my 9 year old had an advantage over my 4 year old, so I also had to help her and at times I just wasn’t fast enough for both of us. And some got a little carried away pressing their buzzer. But we had fun!
Also, starting in late spring 2013, World Series of Yahtzee will include a digital value offer for a High Roller App pack for use in the World Series of Yahtzee mobile app. Do you have what it takes to win World Series of Yahtzee?
