Yarn Tassel Monsters
These Yarn Tassel Monsters just go to show that you can truly turn anything into the most adorable, fun craft just by adding googly eyes!
Monsters are some of our favorite craft subjects, around Halloween but really any time of year. We’ve done Paint Splatter Monster Puppets, which is a process I still adore, and our Craft Stick Monsters is another good one. For an even easier monster craft, though, these Yarn Tassel Monsters are ready in 5 minutes or less!
To start our Yarn Tassel Monsters, you’ll need to wrap your choice of yarn around the index and pinky finger spread apart as wide as possible. Wrap and wrap and wrap until you can’t wrap anymore. You can also make a pure white one as a fun little yarn ghost for Halloween! The rest of the supplies consist of googly eyes, hot glue, and scissors.

Start by wrapping your choice of yarn around the index and pinky fingers, spread as far apart as possible.
Wrap and wrap and wrap until you can’t wrap anymore.
Then, take a long strand of yarn and wrap the width of the yarn. Wrap and wrap and wrap to secure, leaving enough to tie off in back. You can wrap more yarn around the top or bottom strands to make separate legs or different hairstyles for the monsters. Just tie off on back or hot glue to secure.
Cut the loops on top and bottom.
Adhere googly eyes, or googly eye.
They’re so simple, but I love these Yarn Tassel Monsters so much! I get such a kick out of them, with their spiky yarn hair and yarn “legs”.
