Yarn Wrapped Shamrock Craft
Some of our favorite crafts around here involve yarn. The simple act of wrapping a piece of cardboard in yarn is not only great for hand/eye coordination, but great for adding color, too. And our Yarn Wrapped Shamrock Craft is all those wonderful things, and more!
These are so fun, we seriously couldn’t stop making them. We made shamrocks in green and we made more in rainbow. Any way you make them, they are a perfect St. Patrick’s Day craft. We’ve included a Free Printable Shamrock Template, too!
Cardboard Yarn Wrapped Shamrock Craft
To make our yarn shamrocks you will first need our free printable template. Other supplies include sturdy cardboard, yarn, tape, and scissors.
Cardboard Yarn Shamrock Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by printing the shamrock template. Cut out.
Trace the template on a piece of sturdy cardboard.
Cut out the shamrock.
Now, tape the beginning end of yarn to the back of the cardboard.
Then simply start wrapping around every nook and cranny. Don’t forget to wrap the stem, too! Just wrap randomly all around until the shamrock is covered.
Wrap some shamrocks in green and some in multi-color rainbow yarn, too.
Once fully wrapped, cut and tape the end of yarn to the back of the shamrock.
We love how simple and bright these turned out. They would be absolutely darling hanging up for St. Patrick’s Day decorations!

Materials
- Shamrock template
- Yarn - multicolor, green

Instructions
