Craft Stick Kite Craft

Today’s craft idea is trying to fly off the page! Or at least that’s what our Craft Stick Kite Craft looks like, and one of many reasons why this craft is so much fun!

Flying a kite can be a great way to spend time together as a family on a summer afternoon. But you have to wait until the wind flies just right, lest there be lots of whines and moans when the kite never gets off the ground. With our Craft Stick Kite Craft, you can get creative with your kite as it soars in the sky without ever having to worry about the weather.

Tear pieces of tissue paper. On the back of the kite, begin gluing the tissue paper. We did 4 separate colors in each of the sections, but you could also make it easier and try stripes, random colors, whatever design you’d like. Let the glue dry.

While the glue on the kite is drying, form your sky. Begin by cutting cloud shapes from white paper. 2 large cloud shapes and 2 small.

Craft Stick Kite Craft

Glue the cloud shapes onto a sheet of blue cardstock.

Using a white marker, draw more cloud lines around the blue cardstock.

Glue the kite onto the cardstock, slightly off the page.

With a black sharpie draw a line going from the kite to the bottom of the page. Also draw ribbons. Color the inside of the ribbons with colored markers.
