Egg Carton Flowers Craft
I do love any time I’m given flowers. And flowers are an especially appropriate gift on Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, both of which are quickly approaching. The only thing about a beautiful bouquet of flowers, however, is that they don’t last long. There’s no need to worry about that with our Egg Carton Flowers Craft!
We had a lot of fun making our flowers in our Egg Carton Flowers Craft! I love how bright and colorful they turned out. They would make such a beautiful gift, specially made from kids to mom or grandma on their special days.
For our Egg Carton Flowers Craft you will first need a paper egg carton. Each section will make one flower. So then you will also need scissors, acrylic paints, craft sticks, glue and tape. To tie your bouquet together, you will also need yarn, ribbon, or twine.
Egg Carton Flowers Craft
Supplies needed:
- paper egg carton
- acrylic paint, variety of colors plus green and yellow
- craft sticks
- green construction paper
- scissors
- glue
- tape
- yarn, ribbon, or twine
Start by cutting out each section from the egg carton. Then trim around the section in triangular patterns to makes petals. We made some with 4 petals, some had 5. Gently push the petals back so it opens up.
Paint the flower in your choice of color, leaving the inside blank.
Once the outside is dry, paint the inside yellow. You need to make sure the outside is dry so it doesn’t accidentally blend into the yellow.
And paint the craft sticks green. Let it all dry. Attach the blossom to the craft stick stem with glue. For extra security, also hold with a piece of tape.
Gather 3 flowers together and tie the end of the craft sticks with a bow of yarn, ribbon, or twine. Finish by cutting a few green leaf shapes from a piece of construction paper. Attach to the stems.
It’s a bouquet of flowers that you can keep and treasure! And doesn’t need water. Be sure to check out more of our flower crafts at Our Kid Things!
