Mother’s Day Fingerprint Birds Card
With a mama bird and baby bird sitting on a branch together, this Mother’s Day Fingerprint Birds Card is the sweetest little card for Mother’s Day! It’s really easy to make, too, with not much more needed than the little one’s thumb and finger.
We’ve had a lot of fun with fingerprint crafts lately! This card craft is a simple idea that uses both the thumbprint for the bigger mama bird and fingerprint for the baby. Then swirl a black marker line around their feet and add some fingerprint leaves, too! Mom will find this card so sweet, but it’s also a cute spring craft, too.
We’ve made some really great Mother’s Day crafts, if I do say so myself. Like this Fingerprint Flower Bouquet, our Pop Up Handprint Flower Card, this Super Mom Card, and our Paper Flowers Craft, too. Plus there are so many more great Mother’s Day ideas, too!
For this Mother’s Day Fingerprint Birds Card you will need cardstock in various colors, acrylic paint in green plus colors for the birds, a black marker, and scissors.
Mother’s Day Fingerprint Birds Card
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock – various base card colors
- Acrylic paint – green, bird colors
- Black marker
- Scissors
Begin by folding a full sheet of cardstock in half.
Cut along the crease. Then fold that half in half again.
Now, pour some paint on the tray of your choice. We use a small paper plate. Or, you can also apply paint directly onto the thumb and finger. But with paint on the thumb, press completely onto the center of the card. Do the same with the fingertip. Press onto the center of the card, next to the thumbprint. Wait for the prints to dry.
Draw a small beak for both birds and feet.
Then, draw a swirly line with the black marker under the birds’ feet. And draw small branches extending from the line.
Dip a fingertip into green paint and make fingerprint leaves along the branches.
When all is completely dry, make 2 small dots for the birds’ eyes and simple wings, too.
Finish with a message to mom for Mother’s Day!
