Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft
One of our favorite Dr. Seuss books is Red Fish Blue Fish. We’ve had a couple of copies over the years, seeing each of my kids through their childhood. To go along with this classic from Dr. Seuss, we made this simple Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft, along with a Fish Bowl Printable for easy swimming.

For this Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft you will first need our Fish Bowl Printable. Along with that, you’ll need fish. And those are made with cardstock in red, blue, green, and yellow, a stapler, glue stick, and scissors.
Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft
Supplies needed:
- Fish Bowl Printable
- Cardstock – red, blue, green, yellow
- Stapler
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Begin by printing out the fish bowl.
To make fish, cut about 1” strips from the colors of cardstock. You’ll need 1 strip each of all, but green you’ll need 2. Because, you know, red fish, blue fish, one fish, two fish.
Apply glue on one end of the strip.
Then wrap the strip around in a circle, gluing the ends together.
Where the paper is glued together, fold it in a V kind of shape. Pinch together to both set the glue and form the fin.
Going from the fold of the paper, insert the paper into the stapler as far as it will go. That’s how I judged mine, anyway, but if your stapler is bigger then you’ll just want to go in and staple about ⅓ of the way in the paper.
Once stapled, trim away any excess paper and reform into a fish shape if needed.
And finally, let the fish go for a dip in the bowl.
