Accordion Fold Paper Spiders
Who loves spiders? That’s not a question that usually gets many hands in the air. But we’ve fallen in love with these Accordion Fold Paper Spiders!
Perfect for Halloween, of course, or any spooky day when you may need a bit of creepy crawly, these Accordion Fold Paper Spiders are super easy to make. With googly eyes and a jagged mouth, one might even say they’re fun. OK, the one is me. I think these spiders are really fun, and I know you will, too!
For our Accordion Fold Paper Spiders you will need black cardstock, googly eyes in a variety of sizes, scissors, and a glue stick. A paper cutter is optional, but it makes cutting the paper spider leg strips easier. You’ll also need vibrant markers for the mouth. We used a white chalk marker and our trusty metallic marker pens.

Supplies needed:
- Black cardstock
- Googly eyes, big and small
- Vibrant markers
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Paper cutter (optional)
Begin by cutting circles from the black cardstock.
As we usually do when we need circles, we traced the rim of a glass. The bottom of the glass was smaller than the rim, so we traced that, too, for different sized spiders. Cut out. Make your circles any size you like, whether you trace the rim of a glass or go freehand.
Either with scissors or a paper cutter, cut 4 ½” strips for each spider from the smaller width of a sheet of black cardstock.
Cut the strips in half. Glue 4 to one side of a circle and 4 to the other.
Fold the strips.
Then gently stretch out while keeping the folds.
Draw a jagged mouth with a marker.
Glue googly eyes above the mouth. For big circles, big googly eyes are fun. For smaller circles, try a variety of sizes.
