Colorful Cupcake Liner Pufferfish Craft

I have to say, this Colorful Cupcake Liner Pufferfish Craft makes me happy! I mean, just look at their cute, funny faces. And they even puff up!

This is such a great summer ocean craft. We’ve done a Macaroni Pufferfish Rocks Craft before. To make our Puffed Up Colorful Cupcake Liner Pufferfish Craft, you will need cupcake liners in an assortment of colors. Also, paint markers to make their faces and spikes. Aside from that, you’ll need scissors and glue. 4 supplies for a really fun summer craft!

COLORFUL CUPCAKE LINER PUFFERFISH CRAFT

Supplies needed:

• cupcake liners – assorted colors
• paint markers – white and black
• scissors
• school glue

First, take 2 different colors of cupcake liners and flatten the cupcake liners both as best you can.

Draw your pufferfish face on one cupcake liner using paint markers. Make big eyes with white, let dry, then add black circles. Make a smaller white O for the mouth, let dry, and color inside the O with black. Make dots around the rest of the liner. Go on to the next pufferfish and let the paint dry.

Take another cupcake liner in the color not used for the pufferfish face. Cut in half. Cut that half in half again. And cut that half in half again. So you’ll have 2/8. These are the fins. Set aside.

With the half not cut in half again, crumple into a ball. Set in the center of the bottom cupcake liner.

Your face liner should still be flat, but you’ll want to puff it back up at this point. Apply glue around underside of the face liner and adhere to bottom, around the crumpled liner. Position so some of the bottom liner is showing around the edge and your fish is puffed up. Let the glue dry.

Snip V shapes around the liner.

Glue fins you set aside previously onto the back of the pufferfish.
