Craft Stick Bird Craft
I have a fascination with birds. Anything with wings, really. And so I love coming up with fun bird crafts with my kids like this Craft Stick Bird Craft!
This Craft Stick Bird Craft is really simple, yet so colorful and fun. It starts with 6 regular craft or popsicle sticks glued together. Then, my favorite part, the wings. And our birds have vibrant wings made by bending colorful pipe cleaners.
Finally, eyes and a beak complete our simple Craft Stick Birds. You could also paint your craft sticks if you’d like.

Supplies needed:
- craft sticks
- pipe cleaners in assorted colors
- construction paper in white, black, and other assorted colors
- 1″ hole punch
- 1/4″ hole punch
- glue
- clear tape
- scissors
First, glue 6 craft sticks together. I’ve found the best way to do this is to cut a strip of paper to fit and glue it on back.
Then bend a pipe cleaner to make wings and tape it in place on back. Make sure there’s a bit of space left under this first pipe cleaner wing, because you’ll do the same with another pipe cleaner in a different color and tape under the first.
Punch a 1†circle from the white paper and a smaller circle of black. Glue the black circle in the center of the white for the bird’s eyes. Then cut a triangle of construction paper for the beak and glue in place.
I love these birds! So cute! Such a simple craft, but those are sometimes the best. Especially when you can put your own spin on it. Find more animal craft ideas at Our Kid Things!
