Girls Night Popcorn Cones

My daughter and I, we can feel overwhelmed by all the boys in the house. It’s us against them, and there’s a lot more of them. So sometimes, we just need to get together and have some unabashed one-on-one mom & daughter girl time. Paint our nails, revel in pink and gems, and watch some of our favorite shows. It’s time for a fun Girls Night Popcorn Cones Craft & Mix kind of night!
And now that school is back in session, it’s more important than ever that we have those moments to reconnect. I mean, of course I want to spend time with my boys, too. My daughter and I, however, that’s a unique relationship in the house. Girl power! A great way to get back into the spirit and relax from the day together is with “Spirit Riding Free” Season 6 on Netflix which began on August 17th and Pop Secret popcorn from Walmart!
“Spirit Riding Free” is a show set in the 19th century and is about a 12-year-old girl named Lucky. She encounters a kiger mustang named Spirit. Wild and brought to be “broken”, Lucky gradually bonds with the stallion, and frees him. Lucky also meets two other girls, along with their horses, and they embark on everyday adventures across the land.
It’s a great mother-daughter show to watch together. And don’t forget the Pop Secret popcorn!
Available in the new Family Size at Walmart, Pop Secret is a delicious, high-quality snack that people can feel good about sharing with their family. It’s an unbeatable taste with better ingredients and inventive flavors. We grabbed a box of Pop Secret Homestyle, along with some pink candy melts, pink wafers, pink and purple cardstock, and shiny gems for our Girls Night Popcorn Cones Craft & Mix!
For the mix, I used 2 bags of popcorn and that was plenty, with leftovers. Pop it in the microwave according to package directions.
Spread the popcorn out on a baking sheet. We also added bite-size bits of pink cookie wafers, dried cranberries, and a handful of mixed nuts for our popcorn mix.
Then, melt pink candy melts according to package directions. I also added a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil for a more drizzle-ready consistency. And drizzle across the popcorn mix. Let sit to harden.
While the popcorn mix is setting, it’s a great time to get started on our Girls Night Popcorn Cones Craft! You will need pink and purple cardstock, markers, gems and sequins, clear tape, and hot glue. These are so fun and a perfect way to get creative together.
Girls Night Popcorn Cones Craft

Begin by using your markers to decorate the sheets of pink and purple cardstock. We used metallic markers, but use whatever you have.
Once you’ve drawn your design, wrap cardstock into a cone.
Tape in place.
Trim the top cardstock so it’s more of a cone shape. Apply gems, sequins, etc. with hot glue. Let set.
