Handprint Bunny Tail Craft
When I think of Easter, I think of the reason for the holiday as well as family and spring and bunnies. And those fluffy little bunny cotton tails. We’re so excited about our Handprint Bunny Tail Craft, which has those cute little cotton tails on a bunny made with the help of a little ones hand in a background of colorful tissue paper.
To prove our adoration of cotton tails, one of our very first crafts at Our Kid Things was this Paper Plate Cotton Tail Craft. Then there’s our Cardboard Lacing Cotton Tails.
If you’re looking for more of a face on your bunny, though, we have those, too. See our Craft Stick Puffy Paint Bunnies, Cotton Ball Easter Bunny Card, and Cardboard Roll Yarn Wrapped Bunnies among many other cute bunny craft ideas.
For our Handprint Bunny Tail Craft you will need white cardstock, tissue paper in assorted colors, colorful poms, 1.5” circle paper punch, scissors, and school glue. While I used my own hand for the handprint in these photos and video for demonstrative purposes, of course you’ll want to use your little one’s hand when done at home.
Handprint Bunny Tail Craft
Supplies needed:
- White cardstock
- Tissue paper, assorted colors
- Large glitter poms, assorted colors
- 1.5” circle paper punch
- Scissors
- School glue
Begin by tracing a little handprint. You can trace the entire handprint or leave the thumb off, because we’ll be trimming around that anyway to make the ears.
Now, cut the handprint out with the pinky and ring fingers cut together and the middle and pointer fingers cut together.
We liked to cut in at the base of the fingers, as well, to make the shape more rounded. This is an easy way to now have a bunny head with ears!
Also cut out a circle from the white cardstock, larger than the bunny head shape. You’ll also need 2 smaller 1.5” circles that we punched out using our 1.5” circle paper punch. Set these aside.
Cut squares of colored tissue paper. We used purple, pink, blues, yellow, and green.
Apply glue all over a full sheet of white cardstock. Begin sticking the squares of tissue paper randomly into the glue.
Keep sticking until the paper is full.
Then glue the circle to the bottom of the handprint bunny head shape. Make sure you flip the head shape over so no handprint lines are showing. Glue this to the center of the tissue paper.
Glue the smaller circles to the bottom of the bunny.
And glue on a bunny tail pom.
Hoppity hoppity! There isn’t a cuter sight for Easter! And we loved how colorful these turned out, too.
