Paper Plate #1 Dad Trophy Craft Supplies Needed
- Trophy Template
- Paper plate
- Gold acrylic paint – or yellow and orange
- Cardstock – yellow, blue
- Black sharpie
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Father’s Day Trophy Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by painting a paper plate in a gold color.

We did not have gold, so we combined yellow with a small amount of orange. Let the paint dry completely.

When the paint is dry, cut the paper plate in half. Set one half aside.

Cut a roughly 2 inch strip from the flat side of the other half.

Then, cut the rest into thirds. This should leave you with a rectangle and two triangular shapes.

Glue the rectangle to the bottom strip. Glue the top of the rectangle to the curved side/bottom of the intact half of the paper plate.

Next, print out the trophy template and cut out the pieces. Trace the handles on the remaining triangular paper plate pieces and cut out.

Attach the handles to the sides of the trophy.

Trace the star on blue cardstock and cut out. Also trace the rectangle plaque piece on yellow cardstock and cut out.

Glue the star in place in the center of the award.

On the yellow rectangle, use the black sharpie to write #1 Dad, 1st Place Dad, Best Dad, etc.

Glue the rectangle plaque place on the paper plate strip, at the bottom of the trophy. You may need to trim this to fit, depending on how big you cut your paper plate strip.

A sweet craft idea to give the Best Dad Ever! And now he’ll have the trophy to prove it!
