Paper Plate Yarn Weaving Flower Garden Craft
Supplies needed:
- Sturdy paper plate
- Acrylic paint – green, pink, purple, orange, yellow, etc.
- Green yarn
- Single hole punch
- Black sharpie
- Clear tape
- Scissors
- Glue
Begin by cutting the paper plate in half.
Cut a thin strip from both halves and cut 3 flower stems from the strips. Leave the rest of one half intact, cut the other half in 3 triangles for the flowers. Trim the bottom triangle piece from the 3 triangles, so you’re left with a flat edge. Round off the 3 small triangles into leaf shapes.
Paint the intact half green, as well as the stems and 3 leaf shapes.
Get creative with paint for the 3 flower pieces. Let all paint dry.
Punch holes around the green half piece.
Snip a long piece of green yarn. Thread one end through a hole and tape to the back of the paper plate. We like to wrap a piece around the other end so it’s easier to weave without fraying. Then, continue to weave in and out of the holes at random.
Once finished, tape the other end to the back of the plate.
Position stems between the yarn and glue in place. Adhere leaves, too.
Glue flower shapes to the top of the stems. Then, Add detail to the leaves with the black sharpie. You can also add detail to the flowers, as well, or leave as is.
