Thanksgiving is a day to express gratitude for everything we have and everyone we love. It’s also a day for food. Before you get to the main event, though, craft up a wicked dessert with this fun Craft Stick Pumpkin Pie Craft. Yes, I know there’s a deeper meaning, but the food.

Craft Stick Pumpkin Pie Craft

This Thanksgiving kids craft uses three craft sticks in the form of a triangle on orange cardstock to form a slice of pumpkin pie. Roll up strips of tan paper and glue in place for the crust. Then, just add cotton balls for whipped topping. We’ve even included a fork!

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Craft Stick Craft 

For our pumpkin pie craft you’ll need three regular wooden craft sticks, orange acrylic paint, white cotton balls, scissors, and a glue stick.

You’ll also need tan construction paper and heavier cardstock in orange and silver. You can, of course, use just all paper or all cardstock. However, the slice of pie keeps its shape better with a heavier cardstock and the tan loops for the pie crust glue together easier with a lighter paper.

Pumpkin Pie Craft Supplies Needed

  • Craft sticks
  • Orange acrylic paint
  • Cardstock – orange, silver
  • Tan paper
  • White cotton balls
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Craft Stick Pumpkin Pie Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by painting three regular wooden craft sticks orange for each slice of pie being crafted.

Paint three craft sticks orange.

Let the paint dry completely.

Glue craft sticks in triangle patter to orange cardstock.

When the paint is dry, glue the sticks to an orange sheet of cardstock in a triangle pattern. Let the glue set.

Cut away all excess cardstock.

Now, when everything is glued and set, cut all the excess from around the triangle.

Cut strips of tan paper.

Next, cut strips of tan paper.

Bring strips of tan paper together in a loop.

Bring the ends of the tan paper together in a loop and glue to secure.

Glue loops on back flat edge of triangle.
Tan loop crust.

Glue the loops to the back edge of the triangle.

Add white cotton balls for the whipped topping.

Then, because every slice of pumpkin pie needs whipped topping, finish the slice of pie with white cotton balls. We also cut a fork shape from silver cardstock so we could “eat” our pumpkin pie craft.
