Garlic Knots

Do you know the one thing all of my kids will eat, no questions asked? Bread. That’s right, good ol’ carb-laden made out of dough. Buns, crescents, biscuits, sandwich slices. You name it. I can’t get them to agree on eating anything else, but we could live on bread alone. And with this time of year, these Garlic Knots might just save our lives. In case we run into vampires.

But you don’t need vampires to enjoy Garlic Knots. They’d make a wonderful Thanksgiving side, too. Or Christmas. Or just because, when your kids won’t eat the balanced meal you prepared and you want to make sure they get something in their stomach. So here, have a Garlic Knot. Bread wins the day again.

Tangent over. Let’s get back to the Garlic Knots. Not only are they absolutely delicious, but they’re super easy, too, and not something you’d have to stress over at all come time for the family to sit down together for the big meal. And at least you know the kids would have something to eat, when they absolutely refuse to touch the turkey and dressing.

Garlic Knots Recipe

For our Garlic Knots, a package of crescent rolls or puff pastry, butter, olive oil, chopped parsley, and minced garlic.

Garlic Knots Recipe

Cut the crescent rolls into strips and tie the dough in knots. Place 2 tablespoons each of the butter and oil in a skillet until the butter is melted, then add in the garlic. When that’s all wonderfully fragrant, place the knots in the skillet. Spoon some of the garlic butter onto each knot.

Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until knots are golden brown. In the meantime, melt the remaining butter and add in the oil and parsley. When you remove the skillet from the oven, immediately pour the mixture over the hot knots. And that’s how you make everyone happy.
