Cardboard Roll Turkey Windsock Craft
Let your turkey blow free with this adorable and super simple Cardboard Roll Turkey Windsock Craft! This is such a cute Thanksgiving decoration that kids can put together and then watch as the streamers dance in the fall breeze.
For this Thanksgiving streamer craft, we used a regular brown cardboard roll. No paint involved. But if your cardboard rolls aren’t brown, then you will need to paint it.
In the past, we used cardstock for our windsocks, but this way there’s no staples involved, too. Just glue the streamers in place inside the cardboard roll, add a beak with wattle and some eyes, then hang!
Turkey Windsock Cardboard Roll Craft
To make our turkey craft, you will need paper streamers in orange, red, and yellow, a brown toilet paper size cardboard roll, cardstock in red and yellow, small googly eyes, scissors, and a glue stick.
Then, to hang your streamer, you’ll need a single hole punch and bakers twine.

- Paper streamers – orange, red, yellow
- Construction paper – red, yellow
- Googly eyes, small
- Single hole punch
- Bakers twine
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Turkey Windsock Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by gathering a brown cardboard roll.
You’ll also need paper streamers in red, orange, and yellow.
Cut a streamer to the size you want.
Apply glue to the end of the streamer and stick in place inside the bottom of the roll. This is how we did it, but you could also try adding a line of liquid glue on the inside of the roll or use double sided adhesive. Whatever way is easiest for you.
Continue adding streamers until the roll is full. Three streamers should fill the roll, but you can add more, too, for a fuller look.
Now, cut a strip of either construction paper or a scrap of the streamers to make a small strip of feathers on top of the cardboard roll.
Next, cut a beak from yellow paper as well as a wattle from red paper.
Add googly eyes. Glue the beak and wattle in place, too.
Finish your turkey streamer by punching two holes on the sides of the turkey.
Cut a strand of bakers twine and tie the ends of the twine through the holes. Then, all that’s left is to hang your turkey streamer! We hope you gobble up this fun turkey craft!
