Handprint Turkey Craft

This Handprint Turkey Craft isn’t just a regular handprint craft. It’s a craft of mom, dad, and child’s handprints, for the sweetest Thanksgiving keepsake craft. Or, the grandparents’ handprints layered with the little one. It’s a handprint craft for generations. And it’s a handprint craft to cherish for years to come.

However you make this turkey craft, it’s bound to be special. You’ll need three handprints of different sizes. If you have kids of three different ages, that would be really sweet, as well. We have a Free Printable Turkey Template for all of the remaining pieces of the craft.

Thanksgiving Keepsake Turkey Handprint Craft

To make our handprint turkey craft, you will first need to print our turkey template.

You will also need brown, red, orange, and yellow cardstock, clothespins, scissors, and a glue stick.

Handprint Turkey Craft Supplies Needed

  • Turkey Template
  • Cardstock – brown, red, orange, yellow
  • Wooden clothespins
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Turkey Craft Step by Step Directions

First, print the turkey template. Cut out the pieces.

Template pieces.

Trace the body pieces on brown cardstock and cut out. Cut out a yellow beak. Leave the eye as is.

Cut out handprints.

Also, trace and cut out all the handprints needed. Again, you’ll need three handprints of different sizes, each on a different fall color of cardstock. Mom, dad, and child. Grandparents and child. Siblings. Aunt, uncle, kid. However you want to make your keepsake turkey craft.

Layer handprints, largest to smallest.

Now, glue the medium sized handprint pattern over the largest handprint.

Three handprints.

Then, glue the smallest handprint pattern over the medium sized handprint.

Glue oval body shape to bottom of handprints.

Next, glue the oval shape from the template on the bottom part of the handprints.

Glue neck to body.

Glue the turkey’s head over the thumbs.

Glue eye in place.

Glue the turkey’s eye on the head.

Glue beak and wattle to turkey.

Next, glue the beak on the turkey. We also cut a red raindrop shape for the wattle.

Add clothespins for legs.

Finally, add clothespins to the turkey for legs to finish the sweetest Thanksgiving turkey keepsake handprint craft.
