We do love fall owl crafts. They can be super colorful, and made in so many different ways. Today, we’re making a Cupcake Liner Owl Craft. Perched on a branch, these owls are a really fun fall craft.

I bought a new pack of different colored cupcake liners, so get ready for a lot of cupcake liner crafts in the near future. Who else gets super giddy over new craft supplies? One of our first craft projects had to be this simple and colorful owl craft. Which is also a fun excuse for breaking out the markers, too.

Fall Owl Cupcake Liner Craft

To make our fall owl craft, you will need cupcake liners, cardstock in brown and blue, small googly eyes, scissors, and a glue stick.

You will also need markers in an assortment of colors. We used regular markers for most of our owls, but also broke out our metallic markers for the darker, purple colored owls.

Owl Cupcake Liner Craft Supplies Needed

  • Cupcake liners – assorted colors
  • Cardstock – brown, blue
  • Markers 
  • Googly eyes, small
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Fall Owl Craft Step by Step Directions

Start by gathering blue cardstock for the background, as well as brown cardstock. You will also need two colorful cupcake liners per craft.

Cut a brown cardstock strip.

Cut a strip from the width of the brown cardstock for the tree branch. Trim about an inch off the end, just so it doesn’t cover the full width of the background, but most of it.

Glue brown strip coming from side of background.

Glue the brown strip in place coming from the side of the background.

Fold in sides of cupcake liner.

Now, flatten a cupcake liner and fold in both sides for wings.

Glue the cupcake liner to the tree branch.

Glue the cupcake liner to the brown cardstock strip tree branch. You can easily fit two owls on your tree branch.

Then, add googly eyes. Use an orange or yellow marker to color in a beak.

Add fun details to owls with markers.

Use markers in a variety of colors to add details to the wings. 

Finish by drawing simple stars in the background.

Lastly, we used a gray marker to add starry details in the blue background of your super cute and so simple cupcake liner fall owl craft.
