We’ve also included a very simple Merry Christmas Card Printable to base the cutest handprint Christmas tree on. Inside the card says Merry Christmas, as every good Christmas card should. With plenty of room to write your wishes for a happy holiday.

Whatever you write on the inside, this Christmas card craft idea is sure to impress and wow. It does sparkle, after all, with some fun sequins. We added colorful sequins to finish off our handprint Christmas tree, and used gold sequins in the blue sky for Christmas stars.

Christmas Tree Handprint Card Craft

To make our handprint Christmas cards, you’ll first need to print our Merry Christmas card printable.

Handprint Christmas Tree Card

You’ll also need cardstock in green, brown, yellow, and the color background of your choice. Also, sequins, scissors, a glue stick, and liquid glue. We like using both kinds of glue, but you can always just use good ol’ Elmer’s.

Christmas Tree Handprint Craft Supplies Needed

  • Merry Christmas Card Printable
  • Cardstock – green, brown, yellow, choice of background
  • Sequins – red, green, blue, gold
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Liquid glue

Handprint Christmas Tree Card Step by Step Directions

Begin by printing the Merry Christmas card printable.

You can base your handprint tree on any color background you like. We chose blues.

Fold cardstock in half to form a card.

Fold the cardstock in half, so it’s, you know, like a card.

Round wrist area.

Now, trace and cut out a handprint from green cardstock. Round out the wrist area of the handprint.

Cut a rectangle of brown cardstock.

Also, cut a small rectangle from brown cardstock for the tree trunk.

Glue trunk to bottom of card.

Then, glue the trunk towards the bottom of the card.

Glue handprint over trunk.

With the fingers pointing down, glue the handprint on top of the trunk.

Add star to top of tree.

Next, trace and cut out a simple star shape. You can also use star stickers, if you have those handy.

Dab spots of glue and add colorful sequins to tree.

To finish the Christmas card, apply spots of glue around the tree and apply sequins. We added red, green, blue, and gold sequins to sparkle up our tree.

We also added some gold sequins in different sizes to the background of the card so that it sparkles, too, like stars shining down on the lovely and rather remarkable handprint Christmas tree.
