There’s nothing better on Mother’s Day than a card that incorporates the reason why you’re a mom celebrating the day. And the reason, of course, is because of our kids. With their cute little handprints that we nurture and watch grow, like flowers. All incorporated in our sweet Mother’s Day Handprint Flower Pot Card.
These cards would also be great to give to grandma on Mother’s Day, too, with their grandkids handprints blooming like flowers in a pot with a special Happy Mother’s Day message. Starting out small, these flowers can grow big and strong supported by a strong stem, just like our kids. I also love how you can take the flowers out altogether, and then “plant” again.
Make Mom a Handprint Flower Pot Card
To make our Mother’s Day Handprint Flower Pot Card you will need cardstock in assorted colors, metallic pens, scissors, and a glue stick.
Handprint Flower Pot Card Craft Supplies Needed
- Cardstock – green, pink, red, purple, brown
- Metallic pens – white, silver
- Glue stick
Handprint Flower Pot Craft Step by Step Instructions
Begin by folding your chosen flower pot color of cardstock in half lengthwise. Cut about a third of the way down.
Now, make a snip at the fold about an inch down. Fold down the cardstock and glue in place.
Also, snip the bottom edges from the flower pot card. Make sure you don’t snip too far up, as you don’t want to cut through the fold holding the card together.
Gently fold the back of the card in half and make two small snips, as well.
Then, draw a design on the front of the card with a metallic pen.
Next, trace and cut out handprint on the color flower cardstock of your choice.
And cut a stem as well as 2 leaves from the green cardstock. The heavier cardstock for the stem, the better.
Glue the handprint to the top of the stem and the two leaves around the bottom of the handprint.
Insert the stem into the two snips in the card.
Finally, write a Happy Mother’s Day message on the inside of the card.
Such a pretty Mother’s Day card that mom is sure to love!
