Photo Frame Card Craft for Mother’s Day
To make our photo frame card for mom you will need cardstock in your choice of colors, markers in assorted colors, acrylic paint in your choice of colors, 4×6 photographs, and scissors.

Mother’s Day Photo Frame Craft Supplies Needed
- Cardstock – your choice of colors
- Acrylic paint – your choice of colors
- Markers – green, your choice of colors
- 4×6 horizontal framed photographs
- Scissors
Photo Frame Card Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin with a full sheet of cardstock in your color of choice.

Fold the cardstock in half. This is a horizontal card, so it will open from the bottom. You could follow the same method to make vertical cards, too.

Now, line the photograph up in the center of the front of the cardstock. Use a pencil to mark where you will need to make cuts on either side of the photograph. The cuts need to be the height of the photograph, and about ½ an inch shorter on either end.

Then, have an adult carefully insert the pointy tip of scissors along the lines and make the two cuts.

Make sure the photograph slides into the cuts. If need be, snip a tiny bit extra until the photograph fits. Don’t worry too much if there are jagged edges, but you can always use a nail file to smooth those out if you want.

With the photograph still in the card, use a green marker to make swirly lines around the edges of the card frame. We also wrote “mom” along the bottom of the card.

Next, take the photograph out of the slots and gather your paints for the flowers. We used pink, purple, yellow, and blue. Dip a finger in a paint color.

Make 5 fingerprints in a small circular pattern to make flowers along the swirly lines.

Continue making more flowers with more colors.

When the flowers are finished, dip your finger in another paint color to make the center of the flowers. Let the paint dry completely.

Once the paint is dry, insert the photograph back in the slots.

Finally, write your Happy Mother’s Day message on the inside of the card.

Such a super sweet card, that mom is sure to cherish for years to come! And useful, as you can open the card and stand it on a table as an actual photo frame. It doesn’t get much more personalized than this.
