Fingerprint Put Me in the Zoo Craft
To make our Put Me in the Zoo Craft you will need brown paper lunch bags, yellow cardstock, acrylic paint in yellow, blue, orange, red, green, and purple, small googly eyes, a black marker, scissors, and a glue stick.
Put Me in the Zoo Paper Bag Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by gathering a fork, paper bag, and yellow paint.
Pour the yellow paint on a flat surface. We like to use paper plates. Dip the tines of the fork in the yellow paint and begin stamping the paint around the bag.
Use the tines of the fork to scratch texture in the paint, like fur. But don’t scratch too hard, you don’t want to rip the bag.
Continue painting with the fork until the bag is covered. Let the paint dry completely.
When the bag is dry, glue on googly eyes.
Draw a simple nose and mouth with a black marker.
Then, cut two ear shapes. These are simple rectangle shapes with a rounded top.
Glue the ears in place at the top of the bag.
Next, get ready to make your spots. Pour blue, green, purple, red, and orange paint on a paper plate.
Dip your fingertip into the paint and begin making spots randomly over the bag.
Continue until you think your Put Me in the Zoo leopard is complete.
This is such a great craft to celebrate Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss Day!
