Stick People Nature Craft
Bring your stick figure drawings to life with this Stick People Nature Craft made from actual sticks!
The first thing you need to do is go on a backyard stick hunt!
Then, gather up what you find, wrap them in pipe cleaners to substitute for arms and legs, then draw each a face and glue it on. We made our Stick People after our curly-headed family, with the mom, a girl, and 2 boys.
While on your stick hunt, be on the lookout for sticks that branch out for it’s arms and/or legs. We couldn’t find any that had “arm†branches, and only a couple that had it’s “legsâ€. If you can’t find them, though, just wrap your Stick People in pipe cleaners.

Supplies needed:
- sticks from your backyard
- pipe cleaners
- construction paper
- markers
- scissors
- glue
First, gather your sticks. Then, wrap in pipe cleaners for any missing arms or legs.
Be sure to make the legs longer than the arms and you could also twist one side of the pipe cleaner around the other in back to secure. Trim any excess if needed.
Cut a circular shape out of construction paper. White, green, yellow, pink, blue, whatever color you want. Since we made our family, we stuck with pink and blue just so we knew who was supposed to be who. Draw on a face with marker. Glue to the top of the stick.
It’s our Stick People puppet family! Be sure to check out more nature crafts at Our Kid Things!
