Just design your gingerbread house with a white paint pen then add a touch of color for gumdrops, peppermints, candy canes, and whatnot.

For our adorable gingerbread house craft, you’ll first want to print our gingerbread house template on brown cardstock.

The rest of the supplies include a white paint pen, markers in assorted colors, toilet paper size cardboard rolls, scissors, glue, and tape.

Cardboard Roll Gingerbread House Craft Directions

Begin by printing the gingerbread house template.

Gingerbread house template printable.

It works best to print directly on brown cardstock.

Draw gingerbread house details with a white paint pen.

Then, use a white paint pen to draw the details of the gingerbread house on the rectangle wrap shape. A typical gingerbread house has doors and windows with lots of rounded edges, as well as fun, bouncy, scalloped edges and lots of details!.

Use colorful markers to make candy.

You can also use regular markers to add touches of color. We used green, red, and blue markers to make simple circle gumdrops, candy canes, and a red and white peppermint.

Design the roof of the gingerbread house with a white paint pen, too.

Cut out the pieces.
Cut scalloped edge along bottom of roof shape.

Now, cut out the pieces. You can cut a scalloped edge around the bottom of the roof shape, too.

Wrap around cardboard and tape ends to secure.

Cover a toilet paper size cardboard roll with the gingerbread house wrap. Once wrapped, tape the end to secure in place.

Tape edges of roof to secure.

Bring the edges of the roof together and secure with tape.

Add glue around top of cardboard roll.

Apply a bead of glue around the top of the cardboard roll.

Add roof to glue.

Add the roof in place to complete this adorable gingerbread house craft.

Make a smaller gingerbread house by cutting cardboard roll to height.

To make a smaller house, decorate only the bottom half of the gingerbread house wrap. Follow all other directions, but cut off all excess to the desired height. Add the roof like normal.
