Cardboard Roll Stamped Fireworks Craft

If you’re looking for a quick, fun, and easy fireworks craft for the upcoming holidays, you can’t go wrong with this Cardboard Roll Stamped Fireworks Craft. Perfect for any last minute festivities, or as a quick craft to keep the little ones busy leading up to the real deal evening fireworks.

We’ve even added a sprinkle of glitter to our fireworks, to make them extra sparkly. Of course, the glitter is optional. We don’t work a lot with glitter for obvious reasons, mama already has to clean up enough as it is, but these fireworks just seemed like they were calling for it.

Stamped Fireworks Paint Project Craft

To make our fireworks craft you will need toilet paper size cardboard rolls, acrylic paint in red and blue, glitter in red and blue, heavy white cardstock, and scissors. You will also need a paper plate for each color of paint.

Craft supplies needed.

Toilet Paper Roll Fireworks Craft Supplies Needed

  • Cardboard roll
  • Acrylic paint – red, blue
  • Glitter – red, blue
  • White cardstock
  • Scissors

Fireworks Stamped Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin with a toilet paper size cardboard roll. You will need one for each color of paint.

Make snips in cardboard roll.

Make even cuts about halfway up the toilet paper roll all around the bottom of the roll. 

Bend snips.

Then gently push the cuts outward until they lay almost flat on a surface. Repeat this step on another toilet paper roll. 

Pour red paint in paper plate. Dip cardboard roll.

Pour craft paint on a paper plate in a circle. Use a paintbrush to evenly distribute the paint. Dip the toilet paper roll into the paint.

To make sure all of the strips are covered, use the end of a paintbrush to gently press down into the paint. Continue this step until the strips are evenly covered. 

Press stamp onto white cardstock.

Gently press the painted toilet paper roll down onto the white cardstock. Again, to make sure the roll prints well onto the page, use the end of the paintbrush to press each strip down onto the paper. 

Gently lift up cardboard roll.

Gently lift the toilet paper roll off of the page and set aside.

Repeat with blue paint.
Dip cardboard roll in blue paint.
Stamp blue firework.

Repeat the steps above for the other paint color and the other toilet paper roll.

Pour glitter.

Finally, pour desired amount of glitter onto the wet paint. Shake off and dispose of excess glitter.

Create the desired amount of fireworks on the white cardstock paper, then set aside to dry. Display!
