Us and bats, we have history. Like the time a bat found its way into our upstairs, and then just disappeared. Literally disappeared. I read bats are smart, so we all just assumed he found his way out the same way he came in. However that was. I still have no idea. I’m much more confident in how super cute this bat craft is, that’s for sure.

Coffee Filter Watercolor Bat Craft Step by Step Directions
Start by gathering a coffee filter and washable markers.

We like to use lots of blue, green, some purple, and black, with a touch of the other colors mixed in.

Make sure to place the coffee filter on a protected surface, as it will get wet. Then, color the coffee filter in whatever design you choose with washable markers.

Once the coffee filter is colored, give it just a couple sprays of water.

Let the coffee filter dry completely.

While the coffee filter is drying, place five craft sticks together. Position the two sticks on the end higher than the middle three. Cut a scrap piece of cardstock to fit the width of all the craft sticks, and use this to glue the craft sticks together.

Now, paint the craft sticks black. Let this dry while the coffee filters continue to dry.

When everything is dry, add googly eyes to the craft sticks. Use a white paint pen to draw a W for the fangs.

Next, take one of the coffee filters and fold in half. Fold in half again. Then, cut a jagged line just along the bottom edge of the coffee filter.

Finally, unfold once, leaving the coffee filter folded in half, and glue the craft stick body to the middle of the coffee filter to complete your bat-tastic Halloween bat craft!
