Spray coffee filter with spray.

Once you have the design colored on the coffee filter with washable markers, take a spray bottle and spray the coffee filter. Give it a good spray once or twice. Too much water will make all the color bleed away. We learned this the hard way. One, or at most two, good sprays is perfect.

Let coffee filters dry completely.

Paint jumbo craft sticks.

While the coffee filters are drying, paint your jumbo craft sticks. We painted ours blue and purple. Let that paint dry completely, too.
