Cupcake Liner Sunflower Craft

Since it’s currently 100 degrees outside, we thought, well, maybe a few more summer crafts. For the summer sun, we made this easy, bright, and beautiful Cupcake Liner Sunflower Craft. Plus, it has a fun q-tip painting process for the center of the flower.

Sunflowers are my absolute favorite flower. Of course they’re gorgeous during summer. They’re kind of a fall flower, too. I really love sunflowers anytime, though. And this sunflower craft is perfect to do anytime of year, but maybe especially on a super hot afternoon.

Q-Tip Painted Cupcake Liner Sunflower Craft

To make our easy and pretty cupcake liner sunflowers you will need yellow cupcake liners, cardstock in green and blue, black acrylic paint, qtips, scissors, and a glue stick.

Sunflower Cupcake Liner Craft Supplies Needed

  • Yellow cupcake liners
  • Cardstock – green, blue
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Q-tips
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Easy Sunflower Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by gathering yellow cupcake liners and your choice of blue background cardstock.

Cut snips all around cupcake liner.

Flatten the cupcake liners. Make snips all around the edges of the liner.

Glue just the centers of the cupcake liners to blue cardstock.

Then, glue just the center of the liners towards the top of the blue cardstock. We were able to get two sunflowers on a sheet.

Cut two long strips of green cardstock for stems.

Next, cut two long strips from the green cardstock for stems.

Glue green cardstock stems in place.

Glue the stems in place, starting under the edges of the sunflower.

Trim excess.

Trim away any excess at the bottom.

Dip four q-tips in black paint.

Finally, gather four q-tips and black acrylic paint. Dip all four of the q-tips in the black paint.

Stamp with q-tips.

Then, stamp the q-tips in the center of the sunflower.

Q-tip stamped sunflower center.

Continue stamping to fill the center and finish your beautiful sheet of sunflowers.
