Egg Carton Penguin Craft
Gather some empty paper egg cartons and make our adorable Egg Carton Penguin Craft this winter! Such a fun cold weather season craft for kids, these little penguins are absolutely charming. And they look like they’re ready to go waddling off into the snow.

This little penguin craft is inspired by Cody from Surf’s Up, from the orange tuft of hair on top of its head to the simple orange cardstock beak. Then, we just added the orange feet for an extra touch of cuteness.

We had so much fun making this craft. It was one that we did together, as it does need some adult assistance to start. Like cutting the egg cups from the carton. Also, an adult should be the one to carefully make the hole on top for the orange feather tufts of hair. Once those things are set, though, kids will love painting and decorating the face for their little penguin!
Winter Penguin Egg Carton Craft
To make our penguin craft, you will need paper egg cartons, black acrylic paint, a white paint pen, orange cardstock, orange pipe cleaner, small self-adhesive googly eyes, 1” circle paper punch, scissors, and a glue stick.

Egg Carton Penguin Craft Supplies Needed
- Egg carton
- Black acrylic paint
- White paint pen
- Orange cardstock
- Orange pipe cleaner
- Googly eyes, small self-adhesive
- 1” circle paper punch
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Penguin Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by cutting the cups from a paper egg carton.

You’ll want to round out the edges as much as possible, and trim so that it sits flat.

Then, paint the egg carton cups with black acrylic paint. Let dry.

Once the egg carton cups are completely dried, use a white paint pen to color in a white patch on the front of the cup.

Use the tip of a pen, scissor point, or something of the like to carefully make a small hole on top of the cup.

Now, cut an orange pipe cleaner into fourths.

Bend a small M shape into the middle of the pipe cleaner. Twist the edges around to secure.

Insert the pipe cleaner into the hole on top of the egg carton cup.

Next, cut a small triangle from orange cardstock. Glue in place for the beak.

Add two small self-adhesive googly eyes.

Lastly, we used a 1” circle paper punch to punch two holes for our feet. You could do this by just cutting two small circles freehand, though.

Trim the circle so it looks more like three penguin toes.

Then, finally, glue the feet to the bottom of the penguin to complete this super cute little winter penguin craft.
