Fall Leaf Suncatcher Craft
One of the most beautiful aspects of the fall season are all the different colored leaves. Put those leaves on display with our Fall Leaf Suncatcher Craft! This is a really pretty craft using the colors of nature, in the center of an outline that we made to resemble pumpkins and apples.
We have a Free Printable Suncatcher Outline for the main apple or pumpkin shape. You could always just make the outline with black cardstock instead and really let the leaves shine for that kind of look, too. There’s so many possibilities! So fun, and a great way to get the kids outside appreciating all the wonders of the season.
Nature Leaf Fall Suncatcher Craft
To make our nature suncatchers you will need our free printable suncatcher outline.
You will also need cardstock in orange, yellow, green, or red, clothespins, brown acrylic paint, clear packing tape, scissors, and of course, lots of vibrant fall leaves! We made our suncatchers a little early in the season so they were kind of crunchy, but even the crunchy leaves worked well.
Nature Suncatcher Craft Supplies Needed
- Suncatcher Outline
- Cardstock – orange, yellow, red, green
- Brown acrylic paint
- Clothespins
- Clear packing tape
- Scissors
- Fall leaves
Fall Leaf Suncatcher Craft Step by Step Directions
Start by painting wooden clothespins brown.
Let the paint dry.
Then, print the suncatcher outline on the color cardstock of your choice. Cut out the suncatcher outline, including the inner circle. An adult may need to help with this.
Now, apply 3 strips of wide packing tape across the open part of the suncatcher outline.
Gather all your fall leaves. Even if they’re slightly crunchy, they’ll still work. And start sticking the leaves to the tape.
Continue until you’ve added enough fall leaves, then add 3 more strips of packing tape, sandwiching in the leaves.
Trim off all the excess tape from around the edges.
Next, cut out a simple leaf shape from green cardstock.
Clasp the leaf onto the fall suncatcher with a clothespin to complete this darling fall nature suncatcher craft.
