Preschool Graduation Award Craft

To make our graduation award craft, you will first need to print our graduation award template.

Craft supplies needed.

You’ll also need paper plates, acrylic paint in your choice of colors, cardstock in black, yellow, and other assorted colors, a black sharpie, a 1” circle paper punch, 4×6 pictures, scissors, and a glue stick.

  • Graduation Award Template
  • 4×6 photos
  • Paper plates
  • Acrylic paint – your choice of colors
  • Cardstock – black, yellow, your choice of colors
  • Black sharpie
  • 1” circle paper punch
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Paper Plate Graduation Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by painting a paper plate in your choice of colors.

Paint paper plate.

Let the paint dry completely.

Print and cut out template pieces.

While the paint is drying, print the graduation award template and cut out the pieces. Trace the cap on black cardstock and two of the ribbons on your color of choice. Cut out the pieces.

Punch a circle and cut a rectangle from yellow cardstock.

Now, complete the cap by punching a 1” circle from yellow cardstock. Also cut a rectangle slightly smaller in width from the same yellow cardstock.

Cut slits in the rectangle.

Cut slits in the yellow rectangle, to make the tassel.

Glue yellow circle to top of rectangle.

Glue the yellow circle to the top of the yellow rectangle.

Glue tassel to side of cap.

Then glue the tassel to the side of the cap.

Cut jagged edge around paper plate.
Paper plate jagged edge.

Next, when the paint on the paper plate is dry, cut a jagged edge around the outside of the plate.

Trace circle in center of plate.

Use the circle from the template to draw a circle in the center of the plate.

Carefully cut out circle from center of plate.

Have an adult carefully insert scissors into the center of the plate and cut around the circle.

Position photo in circle and tape in place.

Position a photo in the circle and tape in place.

Glue ribbons to bottom of plate.

At this point, it’s time to glue the ribbons to the bottom of the paper plate.

Glue cap in place at top of plate.

Glue the cap in place at the top of the paper plate.

Use a black sharpie to draw year on ribbons.

Finally, you can use a black marker to write the year on the ribbons.

Materials

Instructions
