Simple Lion Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by painting a paper plate orange.

Paint paper plate orange.

Let the paint dry completely.

Make snips around edge of paper plate.

When the paint is completely dry, use scissors to make snips about an inch apart or so all around the paper plate. This is where the little ones can really get those scissor skills working!

Add googly eyes.

After all the cuts are made, add googly eyes.

Draw nose and mouth with black marker.

Use a black marker to draw a nose and mouth.

Draw whiskers with metallic marker.

Then, use a gold metallic marker to draw whiskers. If you don’t have a gold metallic marker, you can use a white paint pen or make the whiskers with the black marker.

Bend up snips.

Finally, go around and slightly bend up some of the cuts around the paper plate, so all the snips are at different levels. This will just give dimension and interest to the lion’s mane.
