Simple Shape Haunted House Craft
Haunted houses can be so thrilling. They don’t have to be scary, either. In fact, our Simple Shape Haunted House Craft is more educational and fun without being super spooky, and makes a great last minute Halloween craft!
Every piece of our paper haunted house craft is made of shapes. The rectangles for the house, the triangle roofs, the square windows, and the circle moon. Then just add some lines, some bats, and a few silly googly eyes peeking through the windows and you have a fun haunted house.

Make a Paper Haunted House Craft with Shapes
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock – black, purple, yellow
- Black marker
- Googly eyes, very small
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Begin by cutting your shapes for the house from the black cardstock.
We cut about a 2 inch strip from the top, width-wise, then cut the rest in different sized rectangles. Then cut 3 triangles to fit the rectangles from the strip.
Cut a large circle from the yellow cardstock. Glue in place.
Then, begin gluing the rectangles in place.
Glue the triangles to the top of the rectangles. Make some crooked to make your house more haunted.
Now, cut a bunch of squares from the yellow cardstock in different sizes. Also cut a large rectangle for the door. Cut or use a 1” paper punch to make 2 circles, too.
Glue all the pieces in place.
Next, use the black marker to make lines through the windows and across the door. Also use the black marker to make some simple bat shapes around the moon.
Finally, place a few really small googly eyes in the windows. Or, stickers would be cute, too, if you have Halloween stickers.
Boo! Not really! But still so fun! We hope you love this craft, too. Be sure to check out more of our Halloween crafts at Our Kid Things!
