Yarn Lacing Snowman Craft
If there’s a craft that can brighten a cold winter day, it’s this adorable Yarn Lacing Snowman Craft. Not only is this a fun winter craft, but it’s also great practice for hand/eye coordination, and so, so cute, too!
We made our snowmen against a backdrop of cereal box cardboard. It’s lightweight that you can cut it easily, but will hold up to the back and forth of lacing. Plus, if you have kids, you probably have a few of these boxes readily available.

Cardboard Yarn Snowman Craft Step by Step Instructions
Begin by opening a cereal box and cutting away the flaps to get a flat cardboard rectangle.
Trace two overlapping circles on the cardboard. We used a bowl for our template for the circles.
Have an adult carefully cut out the circles.
Now, use a hole punch to form two holes in the corners of the snowman.
And continue making holes all around the circles.
Next, cut a long strand of white yarn. Tape one end to the back of the cardboard.
Use another small piece of tape to tape around the other end of yarn. This will keep the yarn from fraying, making lacing a lot easier.
Begin lacing the yarn through the holes. But leave the two corner holes empty. When done, tape the other end to the back of the cardboard.
Then, cut a strand of the multicolor yarn and tape one end to the back of the cardboard. Tape the other end, as well. And pass the multicolor yarn through the two corner holes as many times as you can get it through.
Tape the final end to the back of the cardboard. Snip another small piece of the multicolor yarn and tie around one piece of the yarn.
Finally, adhere self-adhesive googly eyes on top of the yarn, or use glue.
And use the markers to draw arms and a hat or earmuffs.
We are all about the snowman crafts right now, and this quickly turned into one of our favorites!
