Craft Stick Mushroom Craft

It’s time for a super quick and easy spring craft! This Craft Stick Mushroom Craft is so fun, needing only a few supplies. To me, being the age that I am, they remind me of Super Mario Bros. For the little ones, though, this is a fun way to work on shapes, measuring, cutting, and counting.

Craft Stick Button Mushroom Craft

To make our mushroom craft, you will first need to print the mushroom template. You will also need red cardstock, white buttons, regular and jumbo craft sticks, glue, and scissors.

  • Regular craft sticks
  • Jumbo craft sticks
  • Red cardstock
  • White buttons
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Spring Mushroom Craft Step by Step Directions

Download, print and cut out mushroom template patterns.

Trace the mushroom patterns on red cardstock and cut out.

Trace the curved mushroom shapes onto red cardstock, and the rectangles on whatever scrap of cardstock you may have.  Cut out the patterns.

Glue craft sticks to rectangles of cardstock cut to fit.

Line up three wide and six narrow craft sticks.  Do not overlap the craft sticks.  Glue each set of craft sticks together to a scrap rectangle piece of cardstock, cut to size from the template..

Randomly glue buttons to mushroom caps.

Next, randomly glue a variety of white buttons to each of the red cardstock mushroom caps.

Glue craft sticks to back of mushroom caps.

Now, flip the mushroom caps over and attach the craft stick stems. One jumbo craft stick stem to the smallest cap.

Glue the shorter cap to 3 jumbo sticks and tall cap to 6 regular sticks.

Glue the six regular craft sticks stem to the tallest cap and the three jumbo craft sticks stem to the largest cap.
