Earth Suncatcher Craft
Admire the beauty of our world in more ways than one when you make our Earth Suncatcher Craft for Earth Day. Not only does it have a lot of heart, but when you hang it in a window you get to see the magic of our Earth’s sun lighting up the world.

Be sure to grab our Free Printable Circle Template to base your suncatcher on. Then just fill in the open circle with tissue paper. Any time you get to play with tissue paper, it’s always a special outcome. I’ve always loved the way they color up any craft, and they do the same with this Earth craft.

Earth Day Suncatcher Craft
To make our suncatcher Earth craft you will first need to print our circle template.

You will also need black cardstock, tissue paper in pink or red, green, and blues, clear contact paper, scissors, as well as a single hole punch and twine if you’d like to hang it like we are.
Suncatcher Earth Craft Supplies Needed
- Circle Template
- Black cardstock
- Tissue paper – pink, red, green, blue
- Clear contact paper
- Single hole punch
- Twine
- Scissors
Earth Suncatcher Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by printing the circle template and cut it out. Carefully cut out the inner circle, too.

Now, trace the circles on a sheet of black cardstock with a white paint pen or metallic marker. Something that will show up.

Cut out the outside circle. Then have an adult carefully cut out the inside circle, as well.

Next, trace the outside circle on a sheet of contact paper. If your contact paper is like ours, it will want to roll up on you. Just roll it in the opposite direction and it should flatten out enough to work with.

Cut out the contact paper. You will need two pieces of contact paper in this size.

Apply one of the pieces of contact paper to the circle.

Then, start making a heart with pink or red squares of tissue paper in the center of the circle.

When the heart is made, use the green tissue paper to make continents.

Fill in the rest of the space with blue tissue paper. We used a lighter blue and a dark blue.

The next step is to apply the other circle of contact paper on top of the tissue paper.

Finally, if you’re wanting to hang your suncatcher, make a hole at the top of the suncatcher and tie a piece of twine through. We thought twine would be best as it seemed the most Earthy.

There you have a beautiful Earth suncatcher that’s just waiting to shine the light of the Earth’s sun! Beauty all around.
