Cut a strip vertically from a sheet of cardstock.

Now, cutting vertically, cut a strip the full length from the cardstock. This can be whatever width you would like.

Fold up one end of the strip.

Fold up one end of the strip, a couple inches or so, just as a guide for right now.

Use markers to draw lines or patterns down the strip.

Then, flip the strip over. Use the markers to make some simple lines, or waves or patterns of some sort, going down the length of the strip.

Flip strip back over and begin rolling.

Once the lines are drawn, flip the strip back over and begin loosely rolling up the end with your fingers.

Continue rolling up to the fold.

Continue rolling up until you reach the front section where you previously folded.

Folded paper.

Let go of the roll. Refold the front piece, if needed, so that it stands up.

Add googly eyes and draw a simple mouth.

Next, add googly eyes and a small mouth with a black marker to the front of the fold.

Cut thin strips for antennae.

Lastly, cut two thin strips out of whatever color cardstock you would like for the antennae.
