July 4th Paper Straw Rocket Craft
To make our rocket craft you will need cardstock, paper straws, and yarn all in patriotic colors, along with scissors, and glue.

Paper Straw Rocket Craft Supplies Needed
- Cardstock – patriotic colors
- Paper straws – patriotic colors, two different patterns.
- Yarn – patriotic colors
- Scissors
- Glue
Patriotic Rocket Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin with 6 patriotically designed paper straws. If you’re crafting with toddlers, leave the straws whole.

We used blue and white straws with red and white straws, then wanted to combine the two. So we used 3 straws of each and cut them all in half.

Now, glue one of the halves to the top of the other half. Continue until all straws are glued. Let the glue dry completely. Regular glue should work for this, but you can use hot glue instead if you’d like, too.

Then glue the straws together, side by side.

After that, cut out a simple triangle from your choice of red, white, or blue cardstock.

Glue the triangle to the top of the straws.

Next, wrap multiple loops of red, blue, or white yarn around your fingers.

Tie the yarn together and cut the loops.

Finally, glue the bundle of yarn to the back of the straws.

There’s no doubt about it, these Independence Day rockets around out of this world!
