Tape Resist American Flag Craft
Are you looking for a Memorial Day kids craft to help commemorate all the amazing Veterans who served for us? This Tape Resist American Flag Craft is also great for any 4th of July activities, too, of course, or any other USA holiday.

Not only is our American flag craft a fun craft for all ages, but also a great way for kids to show some patriotic pride. For the very little ones, an adult may need to help placing the tape in rows, but then it’s just all painting. And fingerprint stars, too!

American Flag Tape Resist Craft
To make our USA flag craft you will need white and blue cardstock, red and white acrylic paint, scissors, and glue. You will also need 1” masking tape, or we used washi tape.

Tape Resist USA Flag Craft Supplies Needed
- Cardstock – white, blue
- Acrylic paint – red, white
- 1” masking tape or washi tape
- Scissors
- Glue
Fingerprint Flag Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin with a sheet of white cardstock placed horizontally.

Gather your 1” tape and rip pieces that are just slightly longer than the cardstock. Place in rows across the page, about an inch in between each row of tape. Press the tape lightly in place.

Now, dip a paintbrush in red paint and begin painting in between the rows.

Continue until the page is painted red.

When it’s all painted, gently lift and carefully remove the tape.

Next, cut a rectangle from the blue cardstock.

Glue the blue rectangle to the upper left corner

Then, dip your finger in white paint and begin making dots across the blue rectangle for stars.

All that’s left now is to let the paint dry completely before you proudly hang your USA flag.
