Cardboard Roll Stamped Patriotic Stars

You can make a stamp for fun art projects out of many things like sponges, cotton balls, and cardboard rolls. Cardboard rolls are one of our favorites, and it’s what we used for our Cardboard Roll Stamped Patriotic Stars.

These stars came out really nice and are a perfect craft for holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day. Simply cut five triangles out of a cardboard roll, dip in paint, and stamp!

Make a Patriotic Star Stamp with a Cardboard Roll

To make our Cardboard Roll Stamped Patriotic Stars you will need toilet paper size cardboard rolls, blue and red acrylic paint, white paper, a marker, and scissors.

We also used a paintbrush to bring paint from the edges to fill in the inside of the star as well as make sure the star shape was stamped fully by using the end of the paintbrush to press the stamp. But you can use a qtip instead, or even your finger.

Patriotic Star Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by marking 5 triangles on the bottom of a cardboard roll.

Mark 5 triangles on end of cardboard roll.

Try to make the triangles as evenly spaced as possible.

Cut out triangles.

Now, cut out the triangles.

Fold triangles up.

Fold the triangles up.

Dip stamp in paint.

Next, pour red and blue paint on a flat surface. We like to use a paper plate for projects like this. Dip the stamp in the red or blue paint until all corners of the star are covered.

Press stamp into paper.

After that, press the stamp into the paper. Use the end of a paintbrush to make sure the corners are stamped. Gently lift the stamp from the paper.

Fill in center of star with paintbrush, qtip or finger.

Use the paintbrush to bring the excess paint from the stamped star to fill in the center. Let the first paint color dry, or you will get a blended color effect when filling in the stars. This is nice, too, which we did in a couple of our images. But if you want bright red and blue colors then you will need the paint to dry.

Do the same with the other color.

Then, do the same with the other color.
